Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ramnath Kovind to permit the candidates to take exams of all central government in regional languages.

In a letter to the Prime Minister, the CM said that at present all the competitive exams for recruitment to posts in central government, central public sector undertakings, Indian railways, defence services, nationalised banks etc are held in only two languages i.e, Hindi and English which would become difficult for the candidates who pursued education in regional languages.

"In order to provide an equal and fair opportunity to the students from all states of India, it is requested that the candidates should be permitted to write all competitive exams in the regional languages also for recruitment in Government of India and its departments and undertakings through UPSC and all other agencies like Railway Recruitment Boards, Public Sectors Banks, RBI, Staff Selection Commissions," he wrote.

Letter to President:

In another letter to President Ramnath Kovind, the Chief Minister urged to approve the release postal stamp of former PM PV Narasimha Rao in the view of PV Narasimha Rao centenary celebrations. The letter has also been sent to Ministry of Information and Broadcast.
