Secunderabad: Contract sanitation, patient care and security workers working in government hospitals in Hyderabad, who were on strike for the last three days demanding payment of their pending salaries for May and June months, withdrew their strike after the assurance from DME on Wednesday.

AITUC state working president MD Yousuf and state secretary M Narsimha, who participated in the discussions with DME in this regard, said that the strike was withdrawn after receiving assurance from DME that measures would be taken to give salaries in time to employees apart from giving the pending May and June salaries.

Contract workers union general secretary Hasina Begum, working president Lakshmi Bai, Kishtamma, Suresh, Krishnaveni, Durgabai and others were present on the occasion.
