Cordon and search drive conducted in slum area
Police take into custody suspects & seize vehicles sans supporting documents
Ramachandrapuram (Cyberabad): The police on Wednesday conducted a cordon and search operation in the slum area abutting the ICRISAT fencing, which is part of the Bombay Colony, under the R C Puram police station limits.
During the search, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Madhapur, Venkateswar Rao, went round houses in the slum, seeking personal ID and documents. He interacted with women residents and apprised them of Dial 100 and SHE Teams' services.
Rao took into custody some suspects and seized some vehicles without supporting documents. He questioned the suspects. Among those who took part in the search were Additional DCP M Venkateswarlu, ACP Krishna Prasad, eight CIs and 165 police personnel.
After the search, the DCP cautioned people against those resorting to anti-social activities and thefts. He said such persons should not be given shelter.
