The 10 day short course on ‘Agriculture Media Skills for Extension Professionals’ was concluded at Professor Jayashankar Telangana State University (PJTSAU) at Rajendranagar on Wednesday.

Rajendranagar: The 10 day short course on 'Agriculture Media Skills for Extension Professionals' was concluded at Professor Jayashankar Telangana State University (PJTSAU) at Rajendranagar on Wednesday.

This short course was organised by the Department of Agricultural Extension, College of Agriculture of PJTSAU with the financial support of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi. Dr V Praveen Rao, Vice Chancellor PJTSAU has attended as chief guest for the valedictory ceremony, held at the conference hall in Department of Economics, College of agriculture.

Dr Praveen Rao distributed the certificates to the participants along with Registrar Dr Sudheer Kumar and board of management committee members Dr Seema, Dr Farzana, Dr Manohar Rao. The 10-day course was started on January 20 in which 15 assistant professors and associate professors from Karnataka, Maharastra, Tamilanadu, Telangana and Rajasthan participated.

In the inaugural programme on January 20, Dr D Vishnuvardhan Reddy, Director of Extension had attended as the chief guest. He has suggested the trainees that the timely and appropriate information to be made available to the farmers would increase efficiency in farming and was much needed.

Further, he suggested that, there should be a better coordination between Research and Extension professional to ensure best services to the farmers. Dr J Sathyanarayana, Dean of Agriculture, PJTSAU has also spoke on the occasion and suggested that the modern ICT technologies should be utilized for extending the profitable agricultural technologies to the door steps of the farmers. Dr M Srinivasulu, Course Director gave the overview of the 10 days short course.
