Hyderabad: A meeting of farmers organisations, people's associations and political parties here on Monday demanded a model of the proposed Revenue Act to be placed before the people in Telugu. It said the government should introduce a Title Guarantee Act only after conducting a comprehensive land survey.

While blaming the 'presumptive land records' and 'deed registration' set-up for the flaws in the Revenue department, the meeting demanded that four tasks should be completed if the title guarantee set-up is to be implemented.

• Govt should legislate Title Guarantee Act only after a comprehensive land survey

• Completion of four tasks mooted if title guarantee set-up is to be implemented

The four tasks are:

  1. Clear mention of land area, its borders and land rights should be clearly mentioned in the records; the land records should reflect the actual conditions;
  2. Transactions of purchase, gift, distribution, ancestral rights should be immediately incorporated in records;
  3. The incorporated details in records should be the final witness in deciding the rights; old records & paper records should be discarded & they should not be treated as witness;
  4. In case of mistakes in records (which are guaranteed by the government), the sufferers of loss should be paid compensation, a statement issued by Kanneganti Ravi, member, Rythu Swarajya Vedika State Committee.
