Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) Managing Director M Dana Kishore on Friday said that water would be saved if everyone knows the value of each drop of water. Dana Kishore inspected the houses in SR Nagar area in which linemen are conducting the survey on wastage of water on pilot basis on Friday.

Houses are marked with red colour if they are wasting water and marked with orange colour if they are wasting water by washing vehicles in front of house and green colour would be marked if houses have rainwater harvesting pits.

Later, speaking to the media, the managing director said that everyone should save the water by creating awareness about the wastage of water. Water was being wasted in city and around 50 million litres were being wasted on the roads, he said.

As part of the 'Saaf Hyderabad and Shaandar Hyderabad' campaign, 150 areas have been identified in which water board linemen conducting the survey of wastage of water and they identified that people were washing their vehicles from pipe water and they are washing in front of their houses by wasting so much of water.
