Dr Ambedkar Research Centre set for opening
The former chairman of UGC, ICCSR Emeritus Professor Sukhdev Thorat will inaugurate Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar Research Centre in Osmania University on May 14.
OU Campus: The former chairman of UGC, ICCSR Emeritus Professor Sukhdev Thorat will inaugurate Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar Research Centre in Osmania University on May 14.
This was stated by Vice-Chancellor of OU, Professor S Ramachandram, at a press conference on Tuesday. Prof Ramachandram said that the research centre is being established with the help of central government sponsored Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) funds.
The Centre would encourage research on Ambedkar principles and thought and for conducting several programmes to promote Ambedkar's principles, he said. On the same day, OU main library would be renamed as Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar Library, he said.
Registrar Prof Gopal Reddy, OSD Prof T Krishna Rao and Social Sciences Dean Prof Ashok Naidu, Arts College principal Prof D Ravinder, Commerce College principal Prof Appa Rao, IQAC Drector Prof R Nageshwar Rao, Commerce Professor Sri Ramulu and others were present.
