Secunderabad: The incomplete works after digging up a road stretch have been causing severe inconvenience to the commuters. The officials have started the works for some months ago but did not restore properly.

The road at the entrance of Jubilee Bus Stand was dug up for laying cables and has not been repaired so far. This not only resulted in slowing of the traffic but also causing immense trouble to the commuters.

The permission to dig the roads is given on condition that it would be repaired immediately once the work is completed but the road has not been repaired even after many days.

The unrepaired roads not only reduce the average speed, causing frequent traffic jams, but also can be hazardous to two-wheeler motorists. Lack of supervision by Cantonment Board engineering department seems to have emboldened the roads and building officials to leave the road unrepaired, a local said.

When THI contacted Cantonment Board on the issue, Iqbal, an engineer, said that the road was dug up for laying cables after taking permission from the Board. He said that they would ensure the repairs were done after the inspection.
