Raj Bhavan: The Bharat Scouts & Guides of Telangana State Association State Council Meeting was held at Darbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, on Wednesday.

Patron and President of State Bharat Scouts & Guides, the Governor, Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, said the Scouts motto is 'Be Prepared,' which means, "you are always in a state of readiness in mind and body to do your duty." In addition to the original motto of Scouts, the Governor further added that "the Scouts should "Be Prepared for Best Performance".

Underlying the importance of the Telangana State Scouts & Guides, the Governor said that she was only the Governor who explained about the commendable activities of Telangana State Scouts and Guides activities before the President of India at the Governors conference held recently in Delhi.

She said the young boys and girls of Scouts & Guides should prepare themselves to extend selfless service to the needy and be responsible citizens of the country. "They should be the messengers of values like compassion for all, love for motherland, and respect for women, truth and honesty in life."

The Governor requested the state units to make the Scouts and Guides movement dynamic and encourage the youth to enroll themselves in large number.

Former MP and State Chief Commissioner, Scouts & Guides, K Kavitha, presented a detailed report about the performance of various state units and added that Khammam, Nizamabad, Kareemnagar and some other districts excelled in their performance. She said permanent buildings for Scouts in the districts would be constructed on priority basis, she added.

Senior officials Vijaya Kumar, Vijayendra Boyi and State association members attended. Earlier the Governor presented meritorious certificates to the selected members of Scouts & Guides.
