Green India Challenge gets good response

LB Nagar: There has been a good response to the Green India Challenge given by Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy, BJP legislator Raja Singh, party MLC N Ramchandar Rao, State unit president Dr K Laxman and the party's national executive committee member Perala Shekhar Rao.

to the challenge, Igniting Minds founder and Green India Challenge Initiator M Karunakar Reddy, who himself has taken the task of increasing the green cover, told The Hans India that he was confident of the target of planting five crore saplings being achieved with the united efforts of everyone.

Reddy urged the people to take up plantation as a drive for protecting the environment, for achieving 'Haritha Vishwam' and for ensuring a safe future to future generations. He has taken the task of meeting the challenge on a war-footing by planting saplings.

The efforts of cine stars Chiranjeevi, Akkineni Nagarjuna, KTR, sportsmen V V S Lakshman, Kidambi Srikanth, P V Sindhu, Sania Mirza, Saina Nahval, Dyuty Chand, Sikki Reddy and coach Pullela Gopichand in planting saplings already gave an impetus to the Green India Challenge also given by TRS MP Santosh Kumar and other politicians, pointed out Karunakar Reddy.

He added that already the planting of three crore saplings target had been achieved. He was confident of meeting the target at the earliest if more people emulated the example of stalwarts in the film field and sports.
