Hyderabad: MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Thursday questioned the integrity of the BJP for not conferring Bharat Ratna posthumously to former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao. Addressing the media during campaign for TRS at Gandhi Nagar on Thursday, she criticised Telangana BJP President Bandi Sanjay of playing a new political stunt revolving around the former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao Ghat.
She further questioned the BJP government why they remained silent and did not celebrate the legacy of the legendary leader during the centenary celebrations carried out by the TRS government.
"The Central government has never cared to give Bharat Ratna to either PV Narasimha Rao or former chief minister of state N T Rama Rao even after a long-standing demand. BJP never speaks on issues that contribute to the overall development of society like falling GDP.
Instead it sticks to using the religion card," said Kavitha, urging the people of Greater Hyderabad not to fall prey to such political stunts at the hands of national parties. She later appealed to them to vote for development, vote for TRS. Later, she met representatives of RTC Union, Advocates, Vaishya and Yadava communities who extended their support to TRS.
