Hyderabad: Taken aback by the Dubbaka bypoll outcome, the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi has decided to field all its leaders in the campaign for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections.

The leaders from the districts have been given the task of getting the votes from their district. Chief Minister and TRS president K Chandrashekar Rao has summoned the party leaders to Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday in this regard and instructed the Ministers to coordinate MPs, MLAs and MLCs from their districts and ensure their presence at the meeting.

According to party sources, the Ministers would be given the task to select the leaders to campaign in several divisions in Greater Hyderabad, except for the MIM dominated areas given the understanding between both the parties for the polls.

Sources said that the leaders from the districts would be pressed in the localities where their people reside. A senior party leader said that the Nizamabad district leaders would be deployed at areas like Medchal, the leaders from Nalgonda would be deployed at the Dilsukhnagar so that they can influence the voters with their district roots.

Sources said that the party has asked the leaders from Warangal to campaign in the division 4 of the GHMC which is Meerpet. The leaders, including Panchayat Raj Minister E Dayakar Rao, have been asked to campaign in the Meerpet Housing Board.

Dayakar Rao had recently organised a meeting in Hanamkonda and asked the party leaders to show the strength of TRS in the upcoming elections. Similarly, the leaders from Karimnagar have been asked to campaign in division 135, that is Venkatapur.

The Social Welfare Minister, Koppula Eshwar, has asked the party leaders from the district to extensively campaign for the party for the next one week.

Party leaders said that while the party's working president would spearhead the campaign by taking up road shows and meetings, the leaders including Ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs would be taking up 'padayatra' in the colonies/bastis to get the votes for the ruling party.

"The party missed the trick by giving the entire responsibility to one person in the recent Dubbaka bypoll. This time the party does not want to take any risk and hence, decided to have division-wise in-charges," said a TRS leader.
