The ‘Jamaat-e-Islami Hind’ on Monday officially announced that the Council of Representatives (Majlis e Numaindagan) after thorough deliberations on all aspects elected Syed Sadatullah Hussaini, as Ameer (national president) of the organisation for a four-year term from April 2019 till March 2023.

The Media secretary of State Unit, Mohammed Abdul Majeed on Monday informed that being born in 1973, he was the youngest president on whose shoulders the responsibility is now entrusted. He, who succeeded Maulana Jalaluddin Umari, is former National President of Students Islamic Organisation of India for two consecutive terms (1999 till 2003). He also heads the Study and Research Department of JIH as its Director.

Born in Nanded, Maharashtra, he holds a Bachelors degree in Electronics and Telecommunications. He is the author of more than 12 books on different religious topics and has written as many as 200 articles in Urdu and English. He is on the boards of many social and academic organisations across India.

"He has also been the board member Human Welfare Foundation, New Delhi, Director Centre for Study and Research, New Delhi, Member of Advisory Board Jamiatul Falah, Azamgarh. He is Life Board Member Idara-e-Tahqeeq wa Tasneef e Islami, Aligarh, Trustee Islamic Academy Trust, New Delhi, Member Board of Islamic Publications, New Delhi, Member Editorial Board Tasneefi Academy, MMI Publishers, New Delhi," said Abdul Majeed.
