Mindspace Skywalk works at a fast clip

Hyderabad: Very soon, the IT employees will have a hurdle-free walk between Raidurg Metro station and Mindspace without jiggling through the traffic and signals as the construction works of the major Skywalk have been put on the fast track. The skywalk which will connect the Raidurg metro station and IT Park will benefit thousands of employees to reach their offices by avoiding the road.

In a short time, the 1.2 km skywalk will enable employees working in different companies at Raheja Mindspace to reach their workplace directly from the Metro station.

"The stress-free skywalk would definitely help us reach our destination without going through the chaotic traffic. Crossing the roads always consumes at least 15 minutes of our time and with the skywalk we can walk to the office or metro station without any traffic issues and it would save a lot of energy and time", says Lakshmi Prassana Vaddi, a software developer, Mind Space.

A senior official from Hyderabad Metro Rail while confirming the direct link from Raidurg metro station to Mindspace IT Park, said, "The skywalk will connect the concourse level of the station with around 15 buildings in the first phase and all the 22 buildings in the Mindspace will be connected to the Metro by the end of the project."

The Raheja Mindspace is constructing the skywalk from Raidurg station into the commercial and industrial park with a budget of Rs 100 crore to provide pedestrian-friendly amenities to the employees in Mindspace.

The circular pathway is being constructed for an easy crossover of roads for the workers and the interchange crossover would help people to reach their respective offices by escaping from all the traffic chaos on roads. A Kilometre length skywalk from the metro station will reach the offices at Mindspace after taking a circular crossover elevating towards IT Park. Around five escalators have been planned for an easy drop off for the passengers as there is no complete stairway at the metro station.
