Miyapur: Serilingampally MLA Arekapudi Gandhi on Tuesday released in his camp office a poster along with HMWSSB officials on checking water theft and regularisation of illegal tap connections under the voluntary disclosure scheme 2019 before February 21 next year.

Speaking on the occasion, Gandhi described the scheme as a good opportunity given by the government to regularise unauthorised tap connections, which should be utilised by everyone.

The MLA cautioned that in the case of illegal tap connections there was a danger of facing a criminal case with five years imprisonment. Hence, there was a need for people to voluntarily to get their illegal tap connections regularised without payment of penalty. He called upon the board officials to create of widespread public awareness on the scheme.

Among those present were HMWSSB General Manager Rajasekhar, DGM Nagapriya, Manager Prabhakar, GHMC DE Srinivas, TRS leaders Sanjiva Reddy, Yerragudla Srinivas Yadav and Vittal.
