National Education Day fete at Hindi Sabha
National Education Day was celebrated here on a grand note on Monday. The programme was jointly organised by Hindi Prachar Sabha Hyderabad and Andhra Pradesh Hindi Prachar Sabha. Trustee of Hindi Prachar Sabha Hyderabad J Prem Kumar attended the programme as the chief guest.
Basheerbagh: National Education Day was celebrated here on a grand note on Monday. The programme was jointly organised by Hindi Prachar Sabha Hyderabad and Andhra Pradesh Hindi Prachar Sabha. Trustee of Hindi Prachar Sabha Hyderabad J Prem Kumar attended the programme as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Prem Kumar said that the day was celebrated commemorating the birth anniversary of India's first education minister Maulana Abul Kalam Azad who was known for introducing several education reforms. During his period, apart from the establishment of primary and higher education commissions, Azad played an instrumental role in establishing premier educational bodies such as UGC and AICTU, Kumar said.
Among those who participated in the celebrations were Andhra Pradesh Hindi Prachar Sabha secretary S Gaibuvalli, office in-charge Mahesh Singh, Hindi Seva Samithi convener Vinod Kumar Reddy and others. Rich tributes were paid to Azad on the occasion.
