Shalibanda: The Seerat-un-nabi Academy on Thursday strongly condemned the Union government move to enact the triple talaq law, without broader consensus from Muslim community.

Speaking to media persons on Thursday, the Academy found that ignoring the real issues that the community was facing and also undermining constitutional provisions for the community, the BJP-led government had decided to dilute the Muslim personal law and Sharia provisions.

"That is the reason behind the desperate move for passage of Muslim Women (Marriage Protect Act) Bill in Lok Sabha and then in Rajya Sabha during this Monsoon session. The so-called Muslim bodies have failed to represent Sharia Law in Supreme Court (SC) as well as to Union government," lamented academy president Moulana Syed Ghulam Samdani Ali Quadri.

Of late, Seerat-un-nabi Academy which is becoming a party in Supreme Court in such matters is going to file another case against the new talaq act in the court. Its general secretary Moulana Syed Ghulam Qadar Qutub Hussaini Quadri was also present.
