Officials demolish old school building
Officials at last swung into action and demolished the dilapidated school building whose sunshade collapsed on Vinayaka Chavithi. Though relieved that the incident happened on a holiday when no student was present, parents expressed their concern over the bad condition of the school building at Harijanawada.

A news article had appeared in these columns describing the dangerous situation looming large over the tiny tots. Reacting to the news, officials swung into action and started demolition process. Parigi MEO Harishcander and Municipal Commissioner Tej Reddy initiated the action. The front portion of the building was pulled down with earthmovers on Thursday.
Behind the old building, there is a new construction. They said the entire old building would be demolished, leaving the new one. They told The Hans India that the place where the old building is located would be turned into a playground for the students.
