Patancheru: The ruling members of Kishtareddypet Gram Panchayat on Wednesday demanded an inquiry into the alleged corruption by the sarpanch. At a press meet in Kishtareddypet village, the members stated that although the ruling body was formed 10 months back, the sarapanch was resorting to irregular activities.

They accused the sarpanch, the panchayat secretary and the bill collector of colluding and drawing funds after adoption of resolutions at two meetings. The members alleged that attendance register was not maintained. Because of the alleged corruption development works in several colonies were taken up with their own funds, they maintained, seeking to know whether there were any records of works undertaken in the GP.

They alleged that 'records were missing' and 'made to disappear'. Such irregularities could be exposed it an inquiry was ordered into the corruption, they assessed. The members accused the trio of neglecting the people's needs and totally weakening the panchayat set-up, while pressing for action as per law.

Threatening to take the issue to the notice of the collector, district panchayat officer, the members said they would press and fight for rendering justice to the village.Those present at the press meet included the Upa-sarpanch, members Donthi Ashok, Srikanth, Bandi Santosh, Mannemma, Vijaya, Bhagyalakshmi, Md. Ghouse.
