Neknampur: While the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) claims that Ganesh idols are being removed, citizens are flooding social media with pictures of idols still lying in water bodies. In several instances, locals are removing the idols themselves.

Madhulika S Choudhary who is involved in the restoration of Neknampur Lake said, "With the help of 10 volunteers we have segregated and recovered 250 kg coconut, 200 kg fruits, 25 kg leaves, 30 kg rice, 10 kg plastic and 300 kg iron at Neknampur Lake immersion pond.

We also collected 10 kg of white dhoti, which we will use to make banners and set up caution boards, and other pooja materials that can be easily segregated."
