Malkajgiri: Mallikarjuna Nagar Friends Association and Telangana State Pollution Control Board jointly organised 'Swachhatha Hi Seva.' As part of the programme, plastic and e-waste were collected in Mallikarjuna Colony on Tuesday.

Telangana Pollution Control Board official Muralimohan attended the programme as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, Muralimohan explained to people about the importance of stopping the use of plastic to prevent pollution in order to save the future generations.

He urged people to minimise use of plastic and use items made of items which can be recycled and reused. Plastic is causing immense damage to animals and other living beings, he said.

Later, colony residents collected plastic waste and e-waste in the colony. Certificates of appreciations were distributed among the participants who worked for plastic-free surroundings.
