Amberpet: Due to the sudden thunder showers accompanied by gusty winds last week, the city witnessed a lot of trees getting uprooted. However, the residents of Premnagar CPL SAR police lane are still waiting for the GHMC staff to come and remove the fallen trees on a road near their locality.

The Disaster Response Force teams under the Directorate Enforcement Vigilance & Disaster Management of GHMC received around 130 complaints and they were able to clear them all of them in 24 to 36 hours' time by removing 622 trees, clearing water stagnations at five places and removing several uprooted poles.

"The fallen trees are a play thing for kids now, but it's very unsafe for them as they can fall down and hurt themselves anytime. We have informed the officials but till now, we haven't received any response" a local resident lamented, while speaking to The Hans India here on Monday.
