Sarees distributed to poor women workers
On the occasion of Labour Day (May Day), Ambedkar Society labour contractor Sirisiri Shyam organised a saree distribution programme at the Civil Supplies Department office here on Wednesday. The Civil Supplies Commissioner distributed sarees to the poor women workers.
Somajiguda: On the occasion of Labour Day (May Day), Ambedkar Society labour contractor Sirisiri Shyam organised a saree distribution programme at the Civil Supplies Department office here on Wednesday. The Civil Supplies Commissioner distributed sarees to the poor women workers.
Speaking on the occasion, Shyam said that the progress of any nation or state depends on the workers and the nation which looked after the well-being of labour force was sure to progress and develop.
The programme was specially organised to help poor women, he added. Shyam thanked the Commissioner for making arrangements to distribute sarees, heeding his request.
The Civil Supplies Commissioner congratulated the contractor for organising a program to help poor women and urged them to ensure that norms were not violated with respect to labour. Ambedkar Society member Venkatesh, Ashwin and several contract labourers participated in the program.
