Kapra: The Medchal-Malkajgiri district unit of Students' Federation of India (SFI) on Tuesday demanded action by the Education Department against private/corporate schools and unrecognised institutions for indiscriminate hiking of fees right from the LKG to Intermediate and degree levels.

• SFI leaders allege indiscriminate hike in fee

• They demand the dismissal of Labour Minister Ch Malla Reddy and closure of unrecognized schools

Addressing the media, district SFI secretary Rathod Santosh urged the Education Department to order the closure of unrecognised schools. He accused the private/corporate institutions of collecting exorbitant fee from the students as the department was adopting a negligent attitude. Some of the schools were also claiming that they had recognition, thus 'cheating both parents and students'.

By studying in such institutions students faced a threat of uncertain future. Hence, Santosh demanded closure of schools being run without permission. The SFI leader alleged that the State government was encouraging private/corporate schools at the cost of its own institutions. The federation, he warned, would 'teach a lesson to the government by launching a massive agitation.

While demanding the improvement of conditions in government schools, Santosh wanted a law to control fee being collected by corporate/private institutions. He demanded dismissal of LabourMinister Ch MallaReddy as his schools/collegeswere fleecing the students by hiking fees indiscriminately. SFI members Sai, Sagar, Nagaraju, Prashant were also present on the occasion.
