According to organisers, it was being organised to pay tributes to the 'Father of Nation' Mahatma Gandhi. The 3-day exhibition was inaugurated by Dr P Shashikala Reddy, Principal of Osmania Medical College. This would conclude on October 3.

At the exhibition, one can see rare portraits, paintings and photographs etc., of Gandhiji along with the Ikebana art which accentuates the portrait in a unique way by usage of herbs, flowers etc.

"This highlights the Gandhiji, the apostle of peace, who discovered the unique weapon of Satyagraha, based on truth and non-violence, as an instrument of social action to challenge the mighty British Empire and transform the Indian society leading to India's independence," said the organisers.

Speaking to The Hans India, Shashikala Reddy said that this exhibition was organised in a unique theme by the Ikebana. With all the flower art they tried their best to depict the principles and ideas of Gandhi in exceptional fashion.
