Patancheru: State Telugu Desam secretary and floor leader in the Zilla Parisha, Gadila Srikanth Goud is getting ready to quit the party, after a two-decade-long association, and join the BJP. At a press conference here on Friday, he announced his resignation to the TDP primary membership and secretary's post.

Goud recalled that as a student leader he had been inspired by former Chief Minister N T Rama Rao to join politics and continue.

He had been following NTR's path in striving for uplift of weaker sections and holding posts from the mandal to the State-level. As ZP floor leader, he had raised people's problems.

Goud pledged to continue working to solve people's problems without holding posts. He said he had decided to join BJP inspired by the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while pointing out that NM has been receiving commendations for his work, like showing a solution to the problem of Article 370 in J&K.

Goud claimed that there were migrations of activists/leaders from other parties to the BJP because of the 'dictatorial rule of TRS'. He would join BJP, along with his 2,000 followers, at Exhibition Grounds, on August 18 in the presence of national president Amit Shah, working president J P Nadda, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, State unit president Dr K Laxman, under the leadership of MP Garikapati Rammohan Rao.

Among those present at the press meet were Muthandi Upasarpanch Linga Reddy (TRS leader), Isnapur Ward Members Gopal, Rayandas, Bandi Srikanth Goud(TRS leader), TSNV State executive secretary Nizamuddin Baba, TSNV State secretary Kishore Reddy.
