Alwal residents still complain of intermittent power supply despite repeated assurances from the State government that the power supply is stable.

The power cut reports increased comparing with the previous year reports. A resident of Anand Rao stated that electricity shortage is not a one-time problem, these power cuts are happening without any prior intimation from government or electricity board. It has become unpredictable, that become difficult for us to plan about our day, said Sai Saurav.

The problem is not limited to some pockets in the city; it is widespread in city –Lothkunta and Alwal experience most frequent power cuts. "This exam season for undergraduate and engineering students will be difficult if this problem is not sorted. It might affect our preparation." says a resident of Alwal. In the night time especially, it is very difficult to have a sound sleep without any fan or AC he added.

According to many locals, electricity bills are paid on time but there is no proper maintenance. Residents say that, the power supply has totally gone out of control with no predictable pattern of power cuts. Families having small kids, aged and elderly people have more harrowing times without proper power supply.

Apart from the hour-long power cuts, the repeated spells of outages lasting for a couple of minutes is much burdening and residents worried.
