Vijayawada: Police security beefed up at the residence of Civil Supplies Minister Kodali Nani in Gudivada after the attack on Transport Minister Perni Venkata Ramaiah (Nani) in Machilipatnam on November 30.
An accused B Nageswara Rao attacked the Minister Perni Nani at his residence with a trowel and tried to kill by stabbing in the stomach. The Minister luckily escaped unhurt.
The Krishna district police later decided to beef up security for both two Ministers Kodali Nani and Perni Nani. As part of it, security was beefed up at the residence of Kodali Nani in Gudivada on Thursday as many people from different parts of the district visit the residence of Nani for various purposes. Dog squad searched the home in the morning and the police are allowing the people into the residence of Kodali Nani after the search.
Earlier, the police increased the security for Perni Nani at his residence in Machilipatnam.
