Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam East MLA Velagapudi Ramakrishnababu throwed an open challenge to Rajya Sabha member V Vijayasai Reddy to prove the allegations levelled against him.
Denying the allegations made by the MP here on Thursday, the MLA demanded that the former to swear on East Shirdi Sai Baba temple and prove the same.
The MLA said he lost faith in the MP and demanded that the latter should investigate into the allegations made and bring out the real facts, signing on a stamp paper.
Responding to Vijayasai Reddy's allegations, the MLA denied amassing benami assets. The MLA challenged the MP that if he proved allegations, he would withdraw from politics. "If he failed to do so, the MP can remain active as MP till his tenure lasts," he said.
The MLA said the MP alleged that the former occupied government land in MVP Colony, sector VI and in case if he proves, the MLA appealed to the MP to take possession of the same. Except a 189-yard duplex house at MVP Colony, the MLA claimed there is no other property for him. "In case, if the MP finds anything extra, he can seize the same and distribute them to the poor," the MLA said.
He suggested that if he had assets in the name of benamis, they could seize them and distribute to the poor.
