The two-day Inter-Collegiate Tournament-Kits Trophy organised by the Physical Education Department of Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science Warangal (KITSW) concluded on Sunday.

The results: Basketball - Men: NIT Warangal (winner); KITSW-Alumni (Runner up). Women: KITS Warangal (winner), KITS Singapur (runner up). Football (Men): KITS Warangal (winner), KITSW-Alumni (runner up). Kabaddi (Men): KITS Warangal (winner), University College of Engineering and Technology, Kakatiya University (runner up). Volleyball (Men): KITS Singapur (winner), KITS Warangal (runner up).
Volleyball (Women): KITS Warangal (winner), SR Engineering College (runner up).
Chief guest DCP Malla Reddy; KITS Principal Prof K Ashoka Reddy; Jayachander, Retired Sports Director, KU; and Prof R Dayanithi, NIT, Warangal, distributed prizes to the winners and runners. Organising secretary Prof P Ramesh Reddy, Dr M Srinivas Reddy, K Venkata Swamy, S Mahesh, R Nagaraju and PD KITS Singapur were among others present.
Hanamkonda Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) M Jithender Reddy, who inaugurated the tourney on Saturday, said that sports keep the mind in focus and the body in shape. He said that regardless of win or defeat, it is important to participate in games and sports for students. Quoting 'a sound mind in a sound body', he said that students must participate in the physical activities to attain multi-dimensional growth. He advised the students not to indulge in activities such as ragging, eve-teasing, cybercrimes, drunk & drive etc.
