Warangal: The Task Force Police arrested two persons, who involved in illegal trade of rice belonging to public distribution system (PDS) at Mulkalagudem village under Inavolu mandal in Warangal Urban district on Wednesday. The police seized 300 bags of PDS rice worth around Rs 4.80 lakh.

The accused has been identified as Mothe Ramesh, a native of Punnel village, who resides at Mettugutta near Madikonda, and Pathi Sampath of Mulkalagudem. Task Force Inspector L Ramesh Kumar said that acting on a tip-off they traced out a rice dump elonging to Ramesh on the outskirts of Mulkalagudem village.

He said the accused is used to collect PDS rice from villages at around Rs 10 per a kilogramme. Later he used to transport the rice to Gondiya in Maharashtra selling it at around Rs 23 per kg.
