Warangal: The underground duct coming up between Chintal ROB and the disposal point via Shivanagar is to end the woes of residents living in low-lying areas. It may be mentioned here that the residents of several low-lying areas have been facing innumerable problems whenever it rains big.

Warangal East MLA Nannapuneni Narender laid the foundation stone for the construction of underground duct on Wednesday. "It's going to be a permanent solution for the residents, who have been facing inundation for over a decade," Narender said. The project would cost the government Rs 41.50 crore. Under the first phase, the government had allocated Rs 15.50 crore.

The issue was taken to the notice of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao. who responded positively to end the misery of Shivanagar residents. Efforts are on to complete the construction of underground duct as early as possible, he said.

Corporators Shyamanthula Ushashree, Diddy Nagaraju, Somishetti Srilatha and Kundarapu Rajender were among others present.
