Kurnool: In a bizarre incident, a man attacked his wife with an axe and the incident took place at Bugga Thanda under Pathikonda police station limits in the district on Friday evening.
The woman is identified as Banavath Roja Bai (26). The CI of Pathikonda, A Adinarayana Reddy said that Roja Bai has been living with her husband Devendra Naik and three children at Bugga Thanda.
For the past sometime, Devendra Naik was suffering from health problems. He was suspecting that his wife, Roja Bai was doing black magic on him. He attacked his wife with an axe. Roja Bai suffered multiple injuries on head and neck, said the officer. The locals informed police about the incident. The police rushed to the spot and shifted her to Pathikonda Area Hospital. Later, she was shifted to Kurnool Government General Hospital where her condition is said to be critical. The accused Devendra Naik was taken into custody.
