The coronavirus pandemic in India continued to spread through various states, with the national tally of confirmed cases climbing to 1,51,767, as per the data put out by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The death toll has now mounted to 4337.

The death toll has now mounted to 4337. 6,387 new cases were reported from various states across the country over the last 24 hours.

Maharashtra continues to record high numbers of coronavirus positive cases. The state's COVID-19 tally has now climbed to 54,758 with the death count nearing 1800. It has now recorded 1,792 deaths. Mumbai continues to be the country's biggest hotspot, contributing the most in terms of a number of cases in Maharashtra. The total number of cases in Mumbai has now reached 32,791. Maximum City has reported 1,065 deaths so far. On Tuesday alone, Mumbai reported 1,002 cases of coronavirus positive patients.

Tamil Nadu has recorded 17,728 confirmed COVID-19 cases with a low fatality rate of 127 deaths. 9342 patients have been discharged or have recovered in the state so far.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Gujarat has reached 14,821. The state has reported a very high fatality rate of 915 deaths.

Delhi has also been one of the major hotspots of COVID-19 with the total count in the national capital mounting to 14,465. Delhi has recorded 288 deaths so far.

Rajasthan has reported 7,536 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and has seen 170 deaths.

Madhya Pradesh has reported 7,024 confirmed COVID-19 cases with a mortality rate of 305 deaths.
