Delhi: Man murders neighbour to marry his wife

A man who was in love with his neighbour's wife killed him and make it appear like an accident. Then he acted like a well-wisher by helping the woman overcome grief. When the police threatened him, he informed the police that the man was accidentally run over by a train. Later when the police spotted bloodstains on his clothes, he confessed that he knocked the man with stone and dragged him to the railway tracks.

The victim, Dalbir and the accused Kulkesh, used to work in a factory and stayed in Mohan Garden in west Delhi and became friends a year ago. Kulkesh started visiting Dalbir's house frequently and started giving gifts to his wife Pooja to impress. When Dalbir came to know about this, he did not allow Kulkesh to visit his house and meet Pooja.

On Monday night, Kulkesh came to know that Pooja went to attend a wedding in Bahadurgarh. He called Dalbir near the railway tracks to spend some time together. After some time, he made Dalbir wait at an isolated place, he then picked up a rock and flung it at Dalbir's head.

With this Dalbir fell unconscious, then Kulkesh dragged him on the railway tracks. After a train ran over Dalbir's body, he called the police and informed that his friend met with an accident on the railway tracks. Dalbir's body parts got scattered along the railway tracks for about a kilometre. Kulkesh started consoling Pooja when she rushed back.

When police check Dalbir's phone calls, police found that Kulkesh was the last person to call him. "When we questioned him, he gave contradictory replies and couldn't explain the bloodstains on his clothes. He later admitted to having murdered his friend," said DCP (west) Monika Bhardwaj.

Kulkesh told police that he was trying to impress Pooja, but she was refusing his proposals saying she couldn't leave her husband. Then Kulkesh decided to kill Dalbir and marry Pooja.
