A team of faculty and staff of IoT & Smart Sensor Lab of IIIT Naya Raipur have designed and developed a simple and cost-effective "Contactless Hand Sanitizer Dispenser Kit". The contactless sanitizer dispenser can spray alcohol-based hand rub sanitizer solution automatically by sensing the hand movement in front of the nozzle.

This can be used for sanitization of hands while entering the buildings/office complexes, etc., without touching the sanitizer bottle. The team behind this development includes Dr. Debanjan Das, Dr. Venkanna U. and Mr. Purnendra Dhruw. According to Dr. Debanjan Das, faculty in-charge of the lab, the unit operates without contact and is activated through a proximity sensor. All the parts of the sanitizer are developed in-house in 3D printer lab at IIIT Naya Raipur. A single fluid nozzle with a low flow rate is used to dispense the hand rub sanitizer.

This sanitizes the hands with minimum wastage. The machine dispenses sanitizer for 20 seconds without any touch and helps to disinfect people entering the office. The unit has already been installed in entry gate of IIIT NR building.
