In his Twitter post, PM Modi recalled that the jawans were "exceptional individuals who devoted their lives to serving and protecting our nation." He added that "India will never forget their martyrdom."

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee were also among those who paid homage to the fallen jawans, as reported earlier.
BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda, in a tweet, paid his tributes to the martyrs of Pulwama on the occasion of the first anniversary and added that the nation would always remember their sacrifice. India was united in its determination to fight terrorism, Nadda said.

At a solemn ceremony at a memorial built to commemorate the sacrifice of the CRPF personnel in the Lethpora CRPF camp in Jammu and Kashmir, senior officials of paramilitary forces paid homage to the soldiers who were martyred in the terrorist attack a year ago.
Umesh Gopinath Jadhav from Maharashtra was the special guest at the wreath-laying ceremony at the CRPF camp in Lethpora of Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of the first anniversary of the Pulwama terror attack in which 40 CRPF personnel were martyred.
Jadhav undertook a 61,000 km long journey through the length and breadth of the country to meet families of the 40 CRPF jawans who lost their lives in the cowardly attack masterminded by the terrorist organisation led by Azhar Mahmood, JeM.

Jadhav told media persons that he met all the families of Pulwama martyrs and sought their blessings. He also collected soil from their houses and cremation grounds. He carried this in an urn which he brought to the Lethpora camp.
