Visakhapatnam: Students affiliated to Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) took out a rally in the city on Saturday demanding that the government conduct DEd exams immediately.

Though the state government issued a notification for conduct of DSC but the DEd students could not appear for the teacher job test as the exams were not conducted so far, said the leaders of DYFI.

As the exams were not conducted in the last 16 months for the D Ed students, they have become ineligible to write ensuing TET and DSC exams.

Led by VV Srinivasa Rao and U Raju, the members of DYFI took part in the rally from Gandhi statue near GVMC to Saraswathi Park. The leaders felt that the state government has been dragging its feet without giving notification for the 1.80 lakh vacant posts in the government sector.
