Can you picture a guitarist playing the instrument hanging upside down at a height of twenty feet? Weird though it may sound, the feat will be attempted by 32-year-old singer Raghu Malleti at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College on March 25.

Speaking to CityTAB, Raghu says, “I can’t really recollect how music became my life. When I came to know about a record feat of an RJ who performed upside down for 29 minutes and 31 seconds, I decided to do something unusual. I will play the guitar and sing upside down from a height of 20 feet for 35 minutes at a stretch.”

Born into a family where music is a tradition, Raghu developed interest in music when he was in college. It has been 17 years now since Raghu picked up his guitar. No doubt a talented musician, he has excelled in Western classical and Flamenco, a form of Spanish folk music. He has more than 1,000 performances to his credit and has also put out a few albums.

His patriotic single “Ee Bharata Desam” and “Amma Prema”, a Mother’s Day special, are his latest hits. The patriotic album has featured renowned sportspersons and film stars. Malleti, who has a master’s degree in business administration, has been practicing for the past two years to perform the unique feat and hopes to achieve it.
