The Krishnaveni Creations in association with Andhra Arts and The Cultural Central of Vijayawada and Amaravathi felicitated the writer, professor and former Vice Chancellor of Sri Venkateswara University, Dr Kolakaluri Enoch in recognition for being honoured with the prestigious Moortidevi award on Sunday in Cultural center of Vijayawada.

The Krishnaveni Creations in association with Andhra Arts and The Cultural Central of Vijayawada and Amaravathi felicitated the writer, professor and former Vice Chancellor of Sri Venkateswara University, Dr Kolakaluri Enoch in recognition for being honoured with the prestigious Moortidevi award on Sunday in Cultural center of Vijayawada.

Kolakaluri Enoch was born in1939, in Vejandla, of Guntur district, and got a BA (Hons) degree from Andhra University. Subsequently he joined Sri Venkateswara University to obtain a PhD. Ironically he started his career from Andhra University and reached the position of Vice Chancellor of the Sri Venkateswara University. He was honoured with Padma Shri Award by the Government of India , in 2014 for his service to literature.

In addition to this Padma shri award, Enoch also received another prestigious Moorthidevi award by Bharatiya Jnanpith for his novel ‘Ananta Jeevanam’. Many more felicitations and awards are also to his credit. Mandali Budha Prasad, Deputy Speaker, Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly said in the meeting that Enoch was not only a scholar but also contributed his service to literature as a poet, story writer, Drama writer, novelist. He also said his contribution to Telugu literature is remarkable.

Enoch expressed his happiness for the felicitation and said that it is memorable to receive the Mooridevi award as a Telugu writer. Penugonda Lakshminarayana, Valluri Siva Prasad, Madugula Ramakrishna, B Jayaprakash and others were also present on this occasion. H Lekhyabharani performed dance items and entertained the audience.
