Pathi Lokeshwari shines in district level sports meet

Pathi Lokeswari, a student of Saint George Girls’ High School, from Peda Avutapalli of Unguturu mandal has excelled in the 80th Grieg Memorial district level Central Zone Sports which was held at Vuyyuru in Krishna district recently. Lokeswari showed her talent and emerged victorious with four gold medals in different events.

Pathi Lokeswari, a student of Saint George Girls’ High School, from Peda Avutapalli of Unguturu mandal has excelled in the 80th Grieg Memorial district level Central Zone Sports which was held at Vuyyuru in Krishna district recently. Lokeswari showed her talent and emerged victorious with four gold medals in different events.

Earlier, she won two gold medals for High Jump and Triple Jump at the state level athletic meet. In the district level championship she won gold medals in High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump and 200 meters run events.

Lokeswari practices at Saint George Girls’ High School in Peda Avutapalli regularly. School Physical Education Teacher (PET) K Joji Kumari supports Lokeswari and gives her the necessary training. Every student would take inspiration from Lokeswari, he added.

Gannavaram MLA Dr Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan felicitated Lokeswari at his camp office at Gannavaram on Monday. Speaking on the occasion Vamsi said that that the state government has been giving top priority to sports and games. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has been trying to construct stadiums at International standards in the capital city, he said.

He has assured Lokeswari that he would give his full support for the tournaments to come. Students should focus on sports and games including studies, he suggested. Gannavaram Mandal Parishad President (MPP) P Kavitha, Andhra Pradesh Cycle Polo Association general secretary Dhaniyala Nagaraju and others participated.
