Col LCS Naidu, Group Commander, Kakinada NCC Group, has said it is good to search for ex-servicemen’s families who are in distress and help in their hour of need rather than they look for help.

He took part in a programme of extending financial help to war widows organised by NCC Canteen here on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, he urged NCC cadets and participants to pass on the message to others so that everybody takes part in such activities.

Commodore MVS Kumar, VSM (retired) Director of Sainik Welfare, said that helping ex-servicemen who sacrificed and struggled for the country must be respected. Presiding over the meeting, MT Swamy, Lt Col, OIC Canteen, said that service activities of this kind would bring honour to the fund raisers.

Three war widows, Morcharla Vajram, Mazharunnisa Begum (both from Machilipatnam) and Shaik Shabnam (Ramavarappadu), were given Rs 5,000 cheques each. Rs 40,000 was given for buying furniture for District Sainik Welfare Office located at IGMC stadium.
