Adikavi Nannaya University (AKNU) vice-chancellor, professor Murru Mutyala Naidu has said that the university is marching ahead in all fronts and for next academic year. The university will be getting necessary infrastructure including buildings and roads.

Speaking to reporters in Sri Venkateswara Anam Kala Kendram here on Friday, the VC said the government sanctioned an amount of Rs 45.28 crore for various development activities in the university, of it Rs 7.50 crore has been spent for laying of roads in the campus.

Eight years ago, the university purchased as many as 96 acres of land from its own funds for Rs 22 crore. Nannaya University will get '12B' status from University Grants Commission (UGC) shortly, which helps to get funds from UGC.

The university is giving priority for job based courses along with research wing and contemplating to introduce some new courses from the next academic year. As many as 27 skill development centres are functioning in the purview of the university, for the benefit of the students.
