With the ongoing festive season, Maruti Suzuki has launched the Utsav Edition of the Alto 800 hatchback in India, priced at Rs 3.94 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Utsav Edition is priced at a premium of Rs 20,000 over the regular Alto 800 VXi (O) grade. So, what do you get for the extra money?

The hatchback continues to be powered by the same 796cc three-cylinder petrol motor that produces 48 HP of power and 69 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The small car claims a fuel efficiency of 24.7 km/l.

The Maruti Alto 800 rivals the Renault Kwid, Datsun redi-GO and the Hyundai Eon. If sources are to be believed, Maruti is planning to showcase a new hatchback that will rival the Renault Kwid. There aren’t many details available on the hatchback but is expected to have a higher ground clearance and SUV-inspired styling.
