Guntur: The three-day student festival, Balotsav started at VVIT at Nambur, near National Highway number 16, on Sunday.

To participate in this programme nearly 12,000 students came to Guntur from across the country, said the organisers.

In this programme, there will be competitions on various cultural events and games, among school students of various standards.

A variety of competitions will be held in 45 divisions of 22 segments on 25 platforms for sub-junior, juniors and seniors category students, based on their educational qualifications.

The cultural events including spot drawing, digital spot drawing, speech test, poetry, movie and folk songs, Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, general quiz, Spell Bee, instrumental music, letter writing and many others will be organized .

A Rajendraprasad, VC of Acharya Nagarjuna University, attended as chief guest and inaugurated the programme. He suggested that it was the responsibility of parents and faculty to allow students to participate competitions like this. APSRTC MD, M Malakondaiah stated that through such competitions, children could develop skills.
Organiser Vasireddy Ramesh Babu stated that this festival could enhance happiness among children.
