Eluru: Christmas celebrations were held on the premises of Amalodbhavi School in Ashok Nagar area here on Wednesday.

Eluru diocese bishop Jayarao Polimera, and MLA Badeti Kota Rama Rao (Bujji) participated as chief guests in the early celebrations. They cut a cake to mark the inauguration of the Christmas celebrations.

Badeti Bujji said that in view of the Christmas celebrations, brightly decorated Christmas trees had been set up in 50 places across the city. He said that the humankind should pay heed to Christ’s message to live in peace and harmony. MLC Ramu Surya Rao called upon the people to come forward to help poor people in the society.

Bishop Jayarao Polimera, Eluru Municipal Corporation Deputy Mayor Nayudu Pothuraju, Cooption member SMR Pedababu, Eluru Agricultural Market committee Chairman Poojari Niranjan, Fr Mojes, Fr George, Fr Abraham, and Fr Swamy delivered their messages.

Bishop Jayarao felicitated MLA Bujji on the occasion and a memento was presented.
The Amalodbhavi School children performed cultural programmes on the occasion.
