Marathon temple dance on Dec 23, 24

Rajamahendravaram: A two-day temple dance programme will be held at Sri Venkateswara Anam Kala Kendram here under the aegis of Nataraja Nrutya Kala Nikethan on December 23 and 24.

Disclosing the details of the grand event at a press conference here on Wednesday, Nikethan chief and renowned dancer Dr Sappa Durga Prasad informed that post a 35 year research on temple dance, they are keeping the art alive through the dance programme.
“Temple dance is a glaring example for our ancient traditions and culture.

Today's scenario is dominated by the modern culture and dances. So far, the government did not extend any financial assistance, yet we continue to organise with love for the art form. Fostering temple dance is the need of the hour,” he said.

He appealed to the parents to encourage children to learn dance forms."The Department of Cultural Affairs is also extending its assistance to conduct the two-day marathon temple dance programme," he averred.Later, he released a brochure relating to the dance programme.R Pedababu, LS Rao, C Rajeswara Rao and others were present at the event.
