No need to pay extra for sand: MLC

Kakinada: MLC Reddy Subramanyam has said that the government is supplying sand freely to the people to cater to their needs and there is no need to pay extra amount at the ramps except the nominal rates fixed by the government.
Inaugurating a sand ramp in Mandapalli here on Friday, he said that sand became an essential item and there was higher demand for Godavari sand for its superior quality. Though the government has been giving sand freely, some were trying to black market it, he added.
The MLC further said that the government was particular to combat the black market problem and asked the people to lodge a complaint if they found any lapses in distributing the sand.
