Bhimavaram: The Water Resources hydrology wing’s Chief Engineer, TVNA Ratna Kumar said that the construction of various projects has been speeding up without wasting even a drop of water, owing to the introduction of modern machinery in civil engineering.

He said that the technology changes in Civil Engineering had benefitted the projects to supply water to tail-end lands. He addressed the recently held ‘SUPERNOVA 2K18’, a national student symposium at the SRKR Engineering College here on Friday. The College Civil Engineering Department conducted the 2-day symposium. Civil Engineering Head, Dr M Jagapati Raju presided over the meeting.

Ratna Kumar, chief guest of the event, said that the Pattiseema Lift Irrigation scheme had benefitted the farmers. “With the constructive work by the State Government to supply water to the farmers, it had benefited the Rayalaseema area also.” He said that the Government had previously completed linkage of Krishna and Godavari and would soon cap the Penna-Krishna linkage.” He suggested the Civil Engineers to utilise the resources available to benefit society.

Well-known software company, ADP’s senior manager, P Rajasekhar, college principal G Pardhasaradhi Varma, college director Sagi Vithal Rangaraju, Prof Padmanabha Raju, Prof JVN Raju and others participated in the meeting. The college old students felicitated the Chief Engineer Ratna Kumar and software expert Rajasekhar on the occasion. The Chief Engineer Ratnakumar released the Supernova Souvenir during the event.
