Ongole: The district medical and health officer Dr S Rajyalakshmi ordered the department officials to make foolproof arrangements for the Pulse Polio programme on January 28 at the meeting held in RIMS Hospital here on Wednesday.

Rajyalakshmi asked the officials to prepare micro action plans to see that every child below five years of age in the district gets the Pulse Polio vaccine. She ordered them to keep a tab on the high risk areas including the places where nomads usually live for a while. She announced that a special officer was being appointed for each health center to see the programme go on smoothly.

In order to make the vaccination programme a success, she ordered the district officials to conduct the training programmes for the vaccinators by January 24 and coordination meetings with other department officials at the mandal-level by January 25.

The surveillance medical officer Dr Sudheer Naik explained various issues related with the vaccination through the power point presentation. The district immunisation officer Dr Sarala, statistical officer Prasada Rao also present in the meeting.
